Available materials include:
("Somerset Velvet", 100% cotton, acid-free paper - printed with Epson UtraChrome K3 ink that produces archival prints with amazing color fidelity)
Paper prints are the classic option, but they do require protection. You can choose to receive your paper prints rolled and then frame your prints in any way you like. Should you choose to receive your art ready to hang, you can order it framed, matted and protected with Plexiglas. That option will be provided after you make your material selection.
("Lexjet's Sunset Select Matte, water-resistant poly-cotton blend canvas, includes a pH neutral acid-free coating - printed with Epson UtraChrome K3 ink that produces archival prints with amazing color fidelity)
Canvas prints do not need to be protected with glass or Plexiglas. You can choose to receive your canvas prints rolled and take care of the hanging system yourself. Or you can receive them ready to hang. In that case, the print will be wrapped around a 1-1/2 inch wood frame. The visible side edge can be made black or white. No frame, mat, or protective glass/Plexiglas is necessary. This eliminates any reflection problem as well as any separation between the artwork and the viewer. The end result is extremely lightweight. Because the canvas itself has a texture, people often mistake the canvas images for the original!
(1/4" clear acrylic with eased and polished edges)
The Plexiglas is printed on the back which is then coated with a white finish. This creates a translucent result with very clear colors. It looks good whether light is coming through it or not. One side shows the image through the Plexiglas, giving it a very rich feel; the other side is white. It can be framed in many different ways, and you can take care of that after your receive your artwork. Should you desire to receive your artwork ready to frame, you can select that option after you make your material selection.
Should you desire not to have a frame but to have it hung - in front of a window or with "stand-offs", please consult with the artist. Holes need to be drilled in the Plexiglas before it is printed.
The Plexiglas can also be printed so that it is more transparent and/or so that you can see the image from both sides. Please consult with the artist if you'd like to discuss these options.
4. Brushed Aluminum "Dibond"
(Two thin sheets of aluminum enclosing a black Polyethylene core, approximately 1/8" thick),
This material is amazingly lightweight but strong. It has an extremely flat surface that is designed for printing high quality graphics. The ink is UV resistant and resistant to temperature changes. On brushed aluminum the image is "alive". As you change your viewing position the image also changes. Light refracts from the surface, emphasizing some colors and minimizing others. You can order the aluminum panel alone and then frame it with any frame of your choice. If you prefer to receive it ready to hang, wooden cleats can be added to the back of the panel. You can make that selection after you choose the material.
5. White "Dibond" (a non-polyester white paint is applied to the surface of the aluminum Dibond described above)
This material is amazingly lightweight but strong. It has an extremely flat surface that is designed for printing high quality graphics. The ink is UV resistant and resistant to temperature changes. The bright white background creates exceptionally vivid and saturated prints. You can order the panel alone and then frame it with any frame of your choice. If you prefer to receive it ready to hang, wooden cleats can be added to the back of the panel. You can make that selection after you choose the material.
